Developing Thornton's Conservation Area Assessment to Guide Develeopment
Womersley’s have prepared a report for Starkeys in Bradford to identify the special character of Ashfield House and its Gardens, as an addendum to the previous Conservation Assessments of Thornton, a small town, just outside Bradford in West Yorkshire. The report is designed to guide sensitive re-development of part of this underused and partly derelict site, to ensure that it’s historic character and its contribution to Thornton’s townscape is conserved. The work looked at historic context of the house’s development, the position of the house in the surrounding historic landscape, before looking at Ashfield House and especially its gardens in more detail
