Samuel Jackman Prescod Institute of Technology tutors and students and M Womersleys are very grateful to kooyman hardware stores and the Barbados Association of Professional Engineers for their kind donation of masonry chisels and other tools. These will be invaluable next week, when one of the Barbados top stone carvers, Colin Alleyne (Top Cat), is working with us in three further days of heritage craft training at Grantley Adams Memorial School.
Kooyman is a retail company with 7 stores on five islands and can be found at Kendal Hill in Barbados. Vanessa Jones form the company and Vincent Jones from the professional engineers’ association are shown in the picture with tutors, students, and Mark Womersley.
M Womersleys is working on behalf of the Queen Elizabeth II, Platinum Jubilee Commonwealth Heritage Skills Training Programme, funded by the Hamish Ogston Foundation.
