In search of Pozzolana Sources part 4
In search of sources of Pozzolana for UNESCO. Just outside the port of Gorgora, developed further by the Italians after their occupations in the 1930’s, we found diatoms within a roadside cutting. We think that the deposits contain upto 75% amorphous silica, a known pozzolana used from the early 17th century in the lake Tana basin.
