Finishing monument conservation with the Harrison Centre - ABICE, on behalf of the Commonwealth Heritage Skills Training Programme
After two weeks of onsite work, M Womersleys working for the Commonwealth Heritage Skills Training Programme has delivered two weeks of heritage skills training, and with instructors and students in Antigua, used pure lime mortars to re-erect an earthquake-damaged monument in the Cathedral Church of St John. The Cathedral Church is a popular cruise ship visitor destination, and the hope is to enhance the visitor experience and in a small way, the economy of St Johns town. The brick wall immediately behind also had to be taken down and rebuilt.
