Part of Rothwell Manor erected after 40 years
It is great to see a Yorkshire Timber Framed bay which dates from 1487, repaired and re-erected in Leeds, in a sympathetic manner. This bay belonged to Roger Hopton's Rothwell Manor, whose estate was leased to him by Henry VII. It was previously recorded by David Michelmore and has been in storage for over 40 years. The timber frame has been restored by experienced craftsmen working for Leeds Conservation Ltd, with the support of Leeds City Council. M.Womersleys have provided advice on inserting new timber to replace missing sections and designed an insulated breathable infill panel build up, supplied by Womersleys Ltd.
